Common questions
How do I set BopiSafe up?
Install from the Shopify App Store, then flip on the "Pickup" app embed in your theme editor — that is the only storefront step. The app home page shows a short setup guide that ticks itself off as you go. It reads your Shopify locations and fills in sensible pickup hours on install, so there is nothing you are required to fill in before it works.
Does BopiSafe work with my theme?
It doesn't edit your theme, so there is nothing to break: the storefront side is an app embed, and the picker lives in its own element rather than in your theme's markup. It measures your theme's colours, type and button shape at runtime so it looks like it belongs. If it looks wrong on your theme, send us the store address and we will look at the actual page.
Nothing shows up on my product page
Three usual causes: the app embed is still off in the theme editor; the product has no stock at any location where local pickup is switched on; or a browser extension is blocking our script. The app home page tells you whether the embed is on. If all three look fine, email us the product URL.
Can it block or break a checkout?
No. The one checkout customization it installs can only hide options — pickup stores the shopper did not choose, and time slots that filled up. There is no code path in the app that stops a shopper with an error, and if our own backend is unavailable the storefront falls back to plain native pickup.
Why does a store show a different number than my admin?
Two reasons. We show available stock — on hand minus what is already committed to other orders and reserved — which is the number your staff would actually find on the shelf, and it is usually lower than on-hand. And the figure is cached for about 30 seconds, so it can lag your admin by up to a minute or so.
How do I uninstall?
Uninstall from Settings → Apps and sales channels in your Shopify admin. Your storefront reverts to native pickup straight away. We drop your access token on the uninstall webhook, and delete everything else keyed to your shop when Shopify sends the redact webhook 48 hours later.
Where is my data stored?
Your settings — pickup hours, slots, capacity — are stored as metafields on your own Shopify shop and locations, not in a database of ours. What we keep on our own side is the access token, a short-lived cache of that configuration, and a counter of pickup orders for billing. Everything travels over TLS. The full list is in our Privacy Policy.
What happens when I pass the free allowance?
Nothing on your storefront. Past 100 pickup orders in a month the picker, the times and the checkout behaviour all keep running — you get a note on the app home page and one email. See how a pickup order is counted for the exact rule.
Bugs and feature requests
Email miles.bopisafe@outlook.com with [bug] or [feature] in the subject. We triage every day. If you're asking for something we've deliberately decided not to build — local delivery, splitting one pickup across two stores, hard capacity blocking — we'll tell you that plainly rather than leave it on a roadmap forever.
